Known Problems

Q: The game crashes randomly during gameplay showing the following error message: ".\BMRender\rmode.cpp(error_code): DirectX call failed: -1,-1,E_FAIL (An undetermined error occurred inside the Direct3D subsystem)". A: First of all, please, update your graphics drivers: - NVIDIA: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-uk - ATI/AMD: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx If updating graphics drivers did not help, please, manually set the resolution of the game using the 'game.ini' file. You can find it in your Documents in ‘my games’ catalogue. Just set two lines to look like these (this example shows setting 1280x1024 resolution): setf ~screenresoultionx 1280 setf ~screenresoultiony 1024 Try to do it with different resolutions. Q: The game crashes during launching. No error message is shown. Q: It doesn’t matter, which campaign I choose, only the Defender of the Crown campaign is being launched. A: Reloading campaigns in “King’s Bounty: Crossworlds” is being made by an automatic edition of the “add.ini” file, which is located in ‘data’ catalogue… It is possible, that something is disturbing this process. After you open the ‘add.ini’ file (e.g. with Notepad), you will find a “sets ~sessionadd” line. It is responsible for reloading campaigns. All you have to do is edit it to launch the campaign of your choice. This is how this line should look like to launch every single Crossworlds campaign: Armored Princess: sets ~sessionadd "" Champion of the Arena: sets ~sessionadd "champion" Defender of the Crown: sets ~sessionadd "defender" Orcs on the March: sets ~sessionadd "orcs" Q: Sound is heard but there is nothing on the screen A: Reduce the screen resolution to a one better supported by the game. You can change the resolution in the game or manually by using the 'game.ini' file. You can find it in your Documents in ‘my games’ catalogue. Just set two lines to look like these (this example shows setting 1280x800resolution): setf ~screenresoultionx 1280 setf ~screenresoultiony 800 Q: I bought my game from Direct to Drive and my serial key doesn't work, what should I do? A: With the activation screen up, log into Direct to Drive. 1) Go to my Account -> Games 2) Go to King's Bounty, there should be a code. 3) Copy and paste it onto the online activation box. Stay logged into Direct to Drive. 4) The game should activate.
